ORDINANCE NO. 11,171
ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, VACATING AND CLOSING
CERTAIN STREETS LOCATED IN AND ABUTTING UPON
BLOCKS 11, 12, 13, 14 and 20, RIFFEL & RHOTON'S FOREST
PARK HIGHLANDS ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, a petition was duly filed with the Board of Directors of the City of
Little Rock, Arkansas, on the 14th day of March, 1961, asking the Board of
Directors to vacate and abandon certain streets located in and abutting upon Blocks
11, 12, 13, 14 and 20 of RIFFEL & RHOTON'S FOREST PARK HIGHLANDS
ADDITION to the City of Little Rock, as designated on the plat of said Addition
now appearing of record in Plat Book 1, Page 18, in the office of the Recorder of
Pulaski County, Arkansas, subject, however, to any public easements now located
in said streets; and
WHEREAS, after due notices as required by law, the Board of Directors has,
at the time and place mentioned in the notice, heard all persons desiring to be
heard on the question and has ascertained that the streets, hereinbefore described,
have heretofore been dedicated to the public use as streets, as herein described;
have not been actually used by the public generally for a period of at least five (5)
years subsequent to the filing of the plat; that all of the owners of the property
abutting upon the streets to be vacated have filed with the Board of Directors their
written consent to such abandonment; and that public interest and welfare will not
be adversely affected by the abandonment of such streets;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby releases, vacates and
abandons all its rights, together with the rights of the public generally, in and to
the streets designated as follows:
1. Hughes Street from "L" Street to Missouri Street;
2. "M" Street from Alabama Street to Hughes Street;
3. Texas Street from Florida Street to Hughes Street;

4. Missouri Street from Florida Street to Hughes Street;
5. Alabama Street from "L" Street to Missouri Street; and
6. "L" Street from the Northeast Corner of Lot 8, Block I, Success
Addition to the Northeast Corner of Lot 8, Block 2, Success
Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas,
subject, however, to any public utility easements now located in said streets.
SECTION 2. A copy of this Ordinance, duly certified by the City Clerk, shall
be filed in the office of the Recorder of Pulaski County and recorded in the Deed
Records of the County.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after
its passage.
