AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, OF A TRACT OF LAND LOCATED
IN PART OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER (SE-1) OF THE NORTH-
EAST QUARTER (NEJ) OF SECTION 1, TOWNSHIP L NORTH,
RANGE 13 WEST, AND KNOWN AS THE PLAZA TOWERS APARTMENT
PROPERTY, WHICH LAND IS CONTIGUOUS TO THE EXISTING
PRESENT CITY LIMITS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, upon the petition of Plaza Towers, Inc., and after

due notice of a hearing on said petition, which notice was published
for the time and in the manner prescribed by law, the County Court
f Pulaski 'Aunty, Arkansas, did on May 8, 1961, enter its order
annexing the'ea more specifically described in Section 1 hereof
to the City of`ttle Rock, and
WHEREAS, mo than thirty days hg",.elapsed within which any
interested person could institute proceedings in the Circuit Court
of Pulaski County; irl '*nsas, to prevent said annexation, 4nd--
WHEREAS, the area hereinafter particularly, c)egeribed.in'Section

1 hereof is contiguous to and adjoins the ,existing city limits of
the City of Little Rock, Arkansas,,, and all .p"e6edings prerequisite
to the annexation of said area have been conducted as required by
law, and
WHEREAS, it is now desirable that said area, as hereinafter
described
in Section
1 hereof,be annexed to the City of Little
Rock;
NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 10 That the following described territory in Pulaski
County, Arkansas, to -wit:
Part of the SEJ NEJ, Section 10 Township 1 North, Range
13 West, more particularly described as follows: Beginning
at a point which is 30 feet South of and 360 feet West of
the Northeast corner of said SEJ NEJ, said Section 1;
thence run South 1 degree 37 minutes Went 299.3 feet; thence
run North 88 degrees 05 minutes West 300 feet; thence rain"
North 297.2 feet to the South line of West Markham Street -
which point is 30 feet South of the North line od said SEI
NEJ, said Section 1, thence run East along the South line
of West Markham Street 300 feet to the point of beginning,
be and the same in hereby accepted as annexed to, and is hereby made
a part of the incorporated area of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas;
and jhay daid lands be, and the same are hereby assigned and attached
to the Fifth Ward of said City.

SECTION 2. It is hereby ascertained and declared that the
lands above described and hereby annexed are being devoted strictly
to urban uses; that there are valuable improvements made thereon,
and that said'lands have been platted and developed in accordance
with the Ordinances and regulations of the City of Little Rock, and
that in order to secure the benefits to be derived from compliance
with the Ordinances and regulations of the City concerning develop•
meat of the above described land, it ismeessary that the said lands
be immediately annexed, It is,therefore, declared that an emergency
exists, and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of
the public peace, health and safety of the area shall be in full
force and take effect immediately on and after its passage.
