AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF ONE THOUSAND
TWO HUNDRED FIFTY AND N01100 DOLLARS ($12250.00) PAY-
ABLE TO CENSUS, U.S. DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE FOR THE
PURPOSE OF TAKING A SPECIAL CENSUS OF THE TERRITORY
ENCOMPASSED IN THE 17.8 SQUARE MILES RECENTLY ANNEXED
TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS WITH AND SIGN AGREEMENTS FOR SAID
SPECIAL CENSUS THROUGH THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated from unappropriated
surplus the sum of One Thousand Two Hundred Fifty and No /100
Dollars ($1,250.00) payable to Census, U.S. Department of Com-
merce to cover the cost of preparing the special census maps,
tabulation of results, supervisor's salary, travel and subsistence,
overhead, and supplies and miscellaneous for the taking of a
special census in the territory composing 17.8 square miles,
more or less, recently annexed to the City of Little Rock.
SECTION 2. The City Manager and Director of Finance are
hereby authorized and directed to execute the necessary warrant
in payment of the appropriation made hereinabove.
SECTION 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to make all necessary arrangements for agreement with the U.S.
Department of Commerce, Bureau of the Census, to accomplish the
special census provided for in Section 1 hereinabove.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval.
