AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF TWENTY TWO THOUSAND
SIX HUNDRED NINETY FIVE AND 03/100 DOLLARS ($22,695.03)
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A METAL RETAINING WALL IN THE
VICINITY OF 28th STREET AND UNIVERSITY AVENUE; AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO. 1122419 SAME BEING THE BUDGET ORDINANCE OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK FOR THE YEAR 1962; DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated from unappropriated
surplus in the Street Fund to the Street Department, Account No. 136,
the sum of Twenty Two Thousand Six Hundred Ninety Five and 03/100
Dollars ($22,695.03) to provide for the construction of a Metal Re-
taining Wall in the vicinity of.28th Street and University Avenue
in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas.
SECTION 2. Section MM.(8) of Ordinance No. 11,2412 same being
the Budget Ordinance of the City of Little Rock for the year 1962,
is hereby amended by adding a subsection d. to read as follows:

SECTION 3. WHEREAS, an open embankment near the intersection of
28th Street and University Avenue in the City of Little Rock is
threatening injury and damage to abutting property owners and to per-
sons travelling upon University Avenue; and, WHEREAS, it is necessary
in the interest of public health and safety to construct a retaining
wall to prevent the possibility of injury as aforesaid; and WHEREAS,
this ordinance appropriates funds for the purpose of constructing such
a retaining wall; NOW THEREFORE, an emergency is hereby declared to
exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approval.
