AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THIRTY THREE THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED
THIRTY AND 36/100 DOLLARS ($33,730.36) FROM THE ARKANSAS ARTS
CENTER CONSTRUCTION FUND TO PAY ESTIMATES SUBMITTED ON CONSTRUCTION
OF THE ARKANSAS ARTS CENTER IN MacARTHUR PARK; AUTHORIZING PAYMENT
THEREFOR; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated from the Arkansas
Arts Center Construction Fund the sum of Thirty Three Thousand Seven
Hundred Thirty and 36/100 Dollars ($33,730.36) for the payment of
estimates or invoices submitted from time to time by the Architect and
the Board of Trustees of the Arkansas Arts Center, or its Building Com-
mittee, relating to the construction of the Arkansas Arts Center in Mac-
Arthur Park.
SECTION 2. The City Manager and Director of Finance are here-
by authorized and directed to issue the necessary warrant or warrants
against the sum herein appropriated upon estimates or invoices submitted
from time to time which have been approved by the Architect for the con-
struction project and the Board of Trustees of the Arkansas Arts Center,
or its Building Committee.
SECTION 3. WHEREAS, construction has begun on the Arkansas
Arts Center in MacArthur Park and certain estimates have been submitted,
and others will be forthcoming immediately, arising from the construction
performed by the Contractor of said project; and WHEREAS, in order to
meet obligations of the City under its contract, it is necessary that
certain sums be appropriated to permit such payments; NOW THEREFORE, an
emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary
for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety shall be in
full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
