AN ORDINANCE .n PR OPRIATING ONE HUNDRED FIFTY SI2 THOUSAND
FOUR HUNDRED AND N01100 DOLLARS ($1562400.00) FOR RIGHT -OF-
A'Y FOR THE EAST - `;'EST EURESS1•1AY; PROVIDING FOR PURCHASE
OF CERTAIN PARCELS OF LAND; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS Or THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,,

SECTION I. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to acquire certain parcels of land within the contemplated East -West
Expressway as hereinafter identified by number. Each parcel shall be
acquired for the price hereinafter set forth opposite the parcel num-
ber, which price represents the approved appraisal of said parcel by
the United States Bureauef Public Roads and the xkansas State Highway
Department. The full legal description of each parcel and the approved
appraisal thereof are now, and shall hereafter remain, on file in the
office of the Real Estate Department of the City of Little Rock, Xk-
ansas.
SECTION 2. The parcels which the City Manager is hereby autho-
rized to acquire and the approved appraisal and purchase price thereof
are as follows:

SECTION 3. The City i,ianager and Director of Finance are
hereby authorized to pay by warrant of the City of Little Rock the

above purchase price for the respective parcels to the person or
persons entitled thereto according to the opinion of the City Attor-
ney so as to vest full legal title to the parcel in the City of
Little Rock.
SECTION 4. There is hereby appropriated the sum of One
Hundred Fifty Six Thousand Four Hundred and No /100 Dollars
($156,400.00) from the City of Little Rock Street Right -of -Way Fund,
,Project 1- Expressway, for the purposes set forth in the above sec-
tions hereof.
SECTION 5. It is hereby found and determined by the Board
of Directors of the City of Little Rock that traffic conditions
within the City are congested and dangerous to tine lives and pro-
perty of its citizens; that expressways are needed and that this
ordinance is necessary to providefor the immediate acquisition of
right -of -way for such purposes; and it is further found that the
price established for the parcels to be acquired is advantageous
to the City and that the acquisition of said parcels should be made
immediately; now therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist
and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public
peace, health and safety shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage.
