11644ORDINANCE NO. 11,644 AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE NORTH -SOUTH ALLEY LOCATED WITHIN BLOCK 7, POPE'S ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, BETWEEN EAST MARKHAM STREET AND EAST SECOND STREET IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. WHEREAS, a Petition was duly filed by Housing Authority of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Charles M. Taylor, individually, and as Trustee under the Will of Elizabeth P. Taylor, deceased, Pulaski Probate No. 35895, with the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, asking the Board of Directors to vacate, abandon and close the North -South alley located within Block 7, Pope':s Addition to the City of Little Rock,Arkansas, between East Markham Street and East Second Street in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, same being more particularly described in said Petition and hereafter; and WHEREAS, after due notice as required by law, the Board of Directors has, at the time and place mentioned in said Notice, heard all persons desiring to be heard on the question and has ascertained that the North -South alley located within Block 7, Pope's Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, between East Markham Street and East Second Street in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, is no longer needed or required for corporate purposes or for use by the general public and adjoining owners in that other streets and alleys are available and used for these purposes, that Petitioners, Housing Authority of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Charles M. Taylor, individually, and as Trustee under the Will of Elizabeth P. Taylor, deceased, are the only abutting landowners adjoining the North -South alley OOCe-1� / F-13 page two located within Block 7, Pope's Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, between East Markham Street and East Second Street in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, to be vacated, and accordingly all abutting landowners have consented to such abandonment, and that the public interest and welfare will not be adversely affected by the abandonment thereof; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKAM AS: Section 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby releases, vacates and abandons all the rights of the public generally, alley located within Block 7, Popes Little Rock, Arkansas, between East Second Street in the City of Little as follows: its rights, togetbw with in and to the North -South Addition to the City of Markham Street and East Rock, Arkansas, described Beginning at the Northwest corner of Lot 6, Block 7, Pope's Addition to the City of Little Rock; thence South along the East right -of -way line of the North - South alley located within Block 7, Pope's Addition to the City of Little Rock, to the Southwest corner of Lot 1, Block 7, Pope's Addition to the City of Little Rock; thence West along the North right -of -way line of East Second Street 20 feet to the Southeast corner of Lot 12, Block 7, Pope's Addition to the City of Little Rock; thence North along the West right -of -way line of said North -South alley located within Block 7, Pope's Addition to the City of Little Rock to the Northeast corner of Lot 7, Block 7, Pope's Addition to the City of Little Rock; thence East along the South right -of -way line of East Markham Street 20 feet to the point of beginning; and the ownership thereof shall vest in Petitioners as the sole abutting owners thereof, Petitioner, Housing Authority of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, to be vested title to the entire page three alley located South of the South line of the North 2k feet of Lots 3 and 10, Block 7, Pope's Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Petitioner, Charles M. Taylor, indivich ally, and as Trustee under the Will of Elizabeth P. Taylor, deceased, Pulaski Probate No. 35895, to be vested title to the entire alley located North of the South line of the North 2k feet of Lots 3 and 10, Block 7, Pope's Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas. Section 2. A copy of this Ordinance, duly certified by the City Clerk, shall be filed in the office of the Recorder of Pulaski County, Arkansas,and recorded in the deed records of said County.
