11600ORDINANCE NO. 111600 AN ORDINANCE UNDER THE GENERAL POWER OF THIS CITY VACATING AND ABANDONING AS A PUBLIC THOROUGHFARE A PORTION OF WILSON STREET LYING BETWEEN ASHER AVENUE AND TWENTY -NINTH STREET; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. _ WHEREAS a portion of Wilson Street lying between Asher Avenue and Twenty -Ninth Street in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, more specifically described as shown in the plat of Riffel and Holders' Add }tion lying between Lot 16, Block 3, and Lot 4, Block 4 of said addition, has never been im- proved as a public street; and WHEREAS said street, though used in part and intermit- tently in times past as a public way, is largely occupied by a natural drainage ditch, is incapable of improvement as a street, and is not for the'time being nor in the foreseeable future required for corporate purposes as a thoroughfare; and WHEREAS the abutting and contiguous properties upon said street have adequate ingress and egress from other streets and ways and will not be injured by vacating and abandoning said street; and WHEREAS, following public hearing duly advertised and held, it is the desire of the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock, acting under its general powers, to vacate and abandon its interest and the interest of the public in the aforedescribed portion of Wilson Street except a portion thereof for drainage purposes only; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: -2- SECTION 1. Under and pursuant to Acts March 21, 1885, No. 67 § 3, compiled as Ark. Stat. 19 -2304, a portion of Wilson Street, as platted in the plat of Riffel and Holders' Addition to the City of Little Rock and lying between Asher Avenue and Twenty -Ninth Street in the City of Little Rock, more specifically that portion of Wilson Street lying between Lot 16, Block 3, and Lot 4, Block 4, of Riffel and Holders' Addition, is hereby vacated and abandoned as a street and as a public thoroughfare as not being needed or useful for corporate purposes. Reserved, however, from this abandonment shall be a drainage easement in the North fifty feet (501) of said portion of Wilson Street. SECTION 2.
