11555ORDINANCE NO. 11,555 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 -14 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO PROVIDE FOR A PAY INCREASE AT THE END OF SIX (6) MONTHS OF EMPLOYMENT AND DURING PROBATIONARY PERIOD FOR UNIFORMED EMPLOYEES- AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. Section 2 -14 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Little Rock, same being a section providing for pay o rates and increases thereof, is hereby amended to read as rnLn (n -, rim follows: '$Sec. 2 -14. Pay rate at time of appointment; o re- employing former employee. bx o° >, The minimum rate of pay for a class shall be >1M paid upon appointment to the class, except that A appointment rates above the minimum rate may be row aa paid if the department head submits a written w request outlining reasons for such action which a)w are approved by the city manager and, as appro- a priate, other appointing authority, justification for approval will be limited to recognition of exceptional qualifications of an eligible or lack of available eligibles at the minimum rate. If a former employee is reemployed in a class in which he was previously employed, the city manager or other appointing authority, may make an appoint- ment at the same rate of pay which the employee had been receiving at the termination of his services, if that rate is at or above the established minimum rate at the time of reemployment. Upon the satisfactory completion of a probationary or work test period, or at the end of the first six (6) months of employment, whichever shall first occur, a new employee hired at a minimum rate should be eligible to be advanced to the second step in the pay range for his class."
