AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING A
PORTION OF THE NORTH -SOUTH ALLEY LOCATED IN
BLOCK 237, ORIGINAL CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, a Petition was duly filed by Housing Authority
of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas; Chris H. Carpenter,
Lutitia Jackson Lindsey, D. W. Jamerson and S. J. Jamerson, and
Collins Temple Baptist Church, Petitioners, with the Board of
Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, asking the Board
of Directors to vacate, abandon and close the North -- 205.55 feet
of the North -South alley located in Block 237, Original City of
Little Rock, as more particularly described in said Petition and
hereafter; and
WHEREAS, after due notice as required by law, the Board of
Directors has, at the time and place mentioned in the Notice,
heard all personsdesiring to be heard on thequestion, and has
ascertained that the North 205.55 feet of the North -South alley
located within Block 237, Original City of Little Rock, is no
longer needed or required for corporate uses or for use by the
general public and adjoining owners in that other streets and
alleys are available and used for these purposes, that Petitioners
are the only abutting landowners upon said portion of said alley
to be vacated, and accordingly all abutting landowners have
consented to such abandonment, and that the public interest and
welfare will not be adversely affected by the abandonment thereof;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby
releases, vacates, and abandons all its rights, together with the

rights of the public generally, except and subject to the rights
of public utilities as hereinafter set forth in Section 2, in and
to the North 205.55 feet of the North -South alley located within
Block 237, Original City of Little Rock, described as follows:
The North 205.55 feet of the North -South alley located
within Block 237, Original City of Little Rock,
Pulaski County, Arkansas, more particularly described
as follows:
Beginning at a point on the centerline of the North -
South alley located within Block 237, Original City of
Little Rock, which point is 205.55 feet South of the
South Right -of -Way line of the Wright Avenue Bypass;
thence East 10.00 feet to the East Right -of -Way line of
said alley; thence North along the East Right -of -Way line
of said alley to the South Right -of -Way line of the Wright
Avenue Bypass; thence in a Southwesterly direction to the
point of intersection of the West Right -of -Way line of
said North -South alley and the South Right -of -Way line of
the Wright Avenue Bypass; thence South along the West
Right -of -Way line of said North -South alley to a point
10.00 feet West of the point of beginning; thence East
10.00 feet to the point of beginning;
and that the ownership thereof except as to said utility easements
provided for in Section 2 hereof shall vest in the ownrs of the
abutting properties.
Section 2. The rights now held by any utility company under
the laws of the State of Arkansas or grants heretofore made to
North
any such utility company by the City to occupy and use said /205.55
feet of the North -South alley located within Block 237, Original
City of Little Rock, hereinabove described, for the location, con-
struction, maintenance and operation of its lines, circuits, '
facilities and equipment for the supplying of public utility
services are hereby expressly excepted from the rights hereinabove
released, vacated and abandamd by the City; and the releasing,
vacating and abandoning by the City of that part of said North -
South alley are subject to such rights now held by any public
utility company.

Section 3. A copy of this Ordinance, duly certified by
the City Clerk, shall be filed in the Office of the Recorder of
Pulaski County, Arkansas, and recorded in the deed records of
said County.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage.
Section 5. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in con-
flict herewith are hereby repealed.
