AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION,
USE, OCCUPANCY AND MAINTENANCE OF AN OVER-
HEAD STRUCTURE ACROSS THE ALLEY INTERSECTING
BLOCK EIGHTY THREE (83), ORIGINAL CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK CONNECTING THE BANKING HOUSE OF
THE FIRST NATIONAL BANK IN LITTLE ROCK WITH
A STRUCTURE TO BE CONSTRUCTED ON LOTS 1 AND
2, BLOCK 83, ORIGINAL CITY OF LITTLE ROCK;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

SECTION 1. The First National Bank in Little Rock,

a National Banking Corporation, organized and existing under the
• laws of the United States of America, its successors and assigns,

is hereby authorized to construct, use, occupy and maintain an

overhead structure crossing the north -south alley intersecting
Block 83, Original City of Little Rock, Arkansas, connecting the
existing banking house of said Bank with a structure to be con-
structed by said Bank on Lots 1 and 2, in said Block 83, Original
City of Little Rock.
SECTION 2. Such overhead structure (1) may be two or
more stories in height; (2) shall be separated from any adjoining
building on the south by a fire wall of at least 4 -hour rating;
(3) shall be connected to said existing banking house by a standard
fire door; (4) shall contain one or more openings in each of the
walls directly above said alley.
SECTION 3. Said overhead structure shall be construct-
ed in accordance with plans and specifications to be submitted
to and approved by an authorized representative of the City of
Little Rock prior to the beginning of such construction.
SECTION 4. Said overhead structure shall have a clear-
ance of not less than 13 feet and 6 inches above the final grade of
said alley, and adequate warning of said clearance shall be posted
by said Bank.
SECTION 5. The overhead structure now connecting said
Bank's existing banking house with the Tower Building to the west
thereof across said alley, shall be removed before the beginning of
construction of said overhead structure herein authorized.

SECTION 6. It is hereby found that the construction
herein authorized is needful and important from the standpoint of
the public welfare and that the postponement of the effective date
of this Ordinance will cause harmful delay in the construction of
said facility. Therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist
and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the
public welfare, peace and health, shall take effect and be in force
from and after the date of its passage.
