RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR WEST THIRD STREET RELOCATION,
SAME BEING 1916% CAPIT&L I24PROVEMENT PROJECT 571
PROVIDING FOR ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN PARCELS OF
LAND1 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY

OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized and
directed to acquire certain parcels of land within the pro -
co
posed West Third Street relocation as hereinafter identified
by number. Each parcel shall be acquired for the price
bhereinafter set forth opposite the parcel number, which price

represents the approved appraisal of said parcel. If more

b than one parcel shall be of common ownership, said parcels

vmay be grouped for purposes appraisal and purchase. The
A full legal description of each parcel and the approved
appraisal are now, and shall hereafter remain on file in
the office of the Real Estate Department of the City of
Little Rock, Arkansas.
SECTION 2. The parcels which the City Manager is hereby
authorized to acquire and the approved appraisal and purchase
price thereof are as follows:

SECTION 3. The following parcels, treated in like
manner as those contained in Section 2 above but in
connection with which there are two alternative appraisals,
one being for a taking of the whole tract and the other for
a taking of a part of the whole tract (being that part
needed for right-of-way) and in connection with which the
appraisals are substantially the same, may be acquired by the
City Manager by either a purchase of the whole or the partial
tract at a price not to exceed the respective appraisal sums
as follows:

SECTION 4. There is hereby appropriated the sum of
Two Hundred Forty -One Thousand and Seven Hundred Dollars
($241,700.00) from the 1965 Capital Improvement Bond Funds
to Project 57 for the purpose set forth in the above sections
hereof.
SECTION 5. It is hereby found by the Board of Directors
of the City of Little Rock that traffic conditions in the Double
S Curve from West Third Street to West Markham Street in the
City of Little Rock are dangerous to the life and property of
its citizens, that the streets connecting West Third and West
Markham Streets should be straightened and that this ordinance
is necessary to provide for the immediate acquisition of right -
of -way for such purposesi lhat the price established for the

parcels to be acquired is advantageous to the City of Little
Rock and acquisition of said parcels should be made immediately,
now therefore, an emergency is declared to exist and this
ordinance being necessary for the preservance of public peace,
health, and safety, shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval.
