ORDINANCE NO. 11,742
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING ONE HUNDRED FIVE
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($105,000.00) FOR RIGHT -OF-
WAY FOR WEST THIRD STREET RELOCATION, SAME
BEING 1565, C21P'I`T'OL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 57;
PROVIDING FOR ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN PARCELS
OF LAND; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED-BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION'l. The City Manager is hereby authorized
and directed to acquire certain parcels of land within the
proposed west Third Street relocation as hereinafter identified
by number. Each parcel shall be acquired for the price herein-
after set forth opposite the parcel number, which price repre-
sents the approved appraisal of said parcel. if more than one
parcel shall be of common ownership, said parcels may be
grouped for purposes appraisel and purchase. The full legal
description of each parcel and the approved appraisal are now,
and shall hereafter remain on file in the office of the Real
Estate Department of the City of Little Rock, ,Arkansas.
SECTION 2. The parcels which the City Manager is hereby
authorized to acquire and the approved appraisal and purchase
price thereof are as follows:

SECTION 3. The City Manager and Director of Finance
are hereby authorized to pay by warrant of the City of Little
Rock the above purchase price for the respective parcels to the
person or persons entitled thereto according to the opinion of

the City.Attorney so as to vest full legal title to the
parcel or parcels in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas.
SECTION 4. There is hereby appropriated the sum of
One Hundred Five Thousand Dollars and no /100 ($105,000.00)
from the 1965 Capitol Improvement Bond Funds to Project 57
for the purpose set forth in the above sections hereof.
SECTION 5. It is hereby found by the Board of Directors
of the City of Little Rock that traffic conditions in the
Double S Curve from West Third Street to West Markham Street
in the City of Little Rock is dangerous to the life and
property of its citizens, that the streets connecting West
Third and West Markham Streets should be straightened and that
this ordinance is necessary to provide for the immediate
acquisition of right -of -way for such purposes; that the price
established for the parcels to be acquired is advantageous
to the City of Little Rock and acquisition of said parcels
should be made immediately, now therefore, an emergency is
declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the
preservance of public peace, health, and safety, shall be
in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
