AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS BY
ADDING A SECTION 23 -13.1; PROVIDING FOR A.
SPECIAL EVENT'S FAME FOR TAXICABS; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Code of Ordinances of the City of
Little Rock, Arkansas, is hereby amended by adding thereto a
section under Acticle II of Chapter 23 entitled "Sec. 23 -13.1
Sane - Special Events Fare," which section shall read as
follows:
"Sec. 23 -13.1. Same. Special Events Fare.
Taxicabs are authorized to charge a 'Special
Event' fare per person when transporting passengers
from the hotels, restaurants and commercial esta-
blishments in the commercial district (bounded
by Interstate Highway 30, the Arkansas River,
High Street and 12th Street) to War Memorial
Stadium, Barton Colliseun, Arkansas Livestock
Show Grounds, or Travelers Field to attend
regularly scheduled events. When the vehicle is
available only for 'Special Event' hire, a sign
shall be prominently displayed indicating the
destination and the fare per person, and the
operator shall have the privilege of waiting
not morn than five minutes in an attempt to
obtain a full load. The fare shall be 754' per
person to the destinations above, and 504� per
;person to the Stock Show Grounds from the :vilest
3oosevelt and Asher area as far west as Asher
and Fairpark and 751�- per person west of Fairpar�
and south of Asher to the present city limits.
When a load of three or more persons cannot be
obtained, the taxicab driver may elect to rea:cind
his 'Special Event' status and charge the regular
rates. The same procedure may be followed when
transporting passengers from the regularly sche-
duled events at the above -named places to the
hotels, restaurants, and commercial establish-
ments in the above described commercial districts."
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval.
