AN ORDINANCE CONDEMNING CERTAIN REAL
PROPERTY WITHIN THE PROPOSED WEST 12TH
STREET RIGHT -OF -WAY TO BE USED FOR THE
PURPOSE OF WIDENING AND IMPROVING SAID
WEST 12TH STREET INCLUDING WITHOUT
LIMITATION STORM DRAINAGE FACILITIES;
DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO INSTITUTE
PROPER CONDEMNATION PROCEEDINGS TO CARRY
OUT THE INTENT AND PURPOSE HEREOF; AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock does hereby
condemn for street right -of -way and related drainage facilities
purposes the following described parcel of real property sit-
uated in the City of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, to -wit:
A parcel of land situated in the SWk Section 4,
Township 1 North, Range 12 West, City of Little
Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, more particularly
described as follows:
Part of Lot 6, Block 14, Roots and Coyts Addition
to the City of Little Rock: Beginning at the South-
east corner of Lot 6; thence northerly along east
line of Lot 6, 6.79 feet; deflect 92 °58t40tt left,
thence 140.15 feet to the west line of Lot 6; thence
southerly along said west line, 0.19 feet to the
north right -of -way line of 12th Street; thence east-
erly along said right -of -way line, 140.00 feet to
the point of beginning; containing 559 square feet,
more or less.
The property so described appears to be owned by William
T. Strickland and his wife.
The aforesaid real property is needed to be utilized
as right -of -way in the construction and improving of West 12th
Street in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas and to provide for
necessary storm drainage in relation thereto.
SECTION 2. The City Attorney is hereby authorized and
directed to file in the proper court, proceedings for the con-
demnation of the property described in Section 1 hereof and to
secure an Order of such court permitting the City to take immediate

possession of the property described upon posting a bond in
an amount to be determined by the court and to do any and
all other things necessary in order to obtain immediate
possession of said property.
SECTION 3. The condition of West 12th Street is
inadequate to accomodate the flow of vehicular traffic utiliz-
ing said street therefore causing congestion of traffic thereon;
and the proposed improvement of said street is designed to
relieve the said congestion of traffic thereby enhancing the
welfare, health and safety of the City. Now, therefore, an
emergency is found to exist and this Ordinance being necessary
for the public peace, health and safety shall become effective
immediately upon its passage.
