AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND PROVIDING FOR
"INSTANT PARKS " -ON A TEMPORARY BASIS; APPROP-
RIATING-THE SUM OF $10,000.00 FROM THE UN-
EXPENDED-BALANCE OF -THE GENERAL FUND; AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES.-
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is desirous of
providing neighborhood parks immediately throughout the City
of Little Rock, thus providing and promoting the public health,
safety and welfare which for the purpose of this Ordinance shall
be known as "Instant Parks" and playgrounds; and
WHEREAS, funds are immediately needed to make improve-
ments on such lands as shall be made available to the City for
said purposes and to provide playground and recreational equip-
ment therefor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock in an effort to
provide neighborhood "Instant Parks': and recreational areas
hereby encourages the citizenry to make such lands as they may
have and not now needed for other purposes available to the City
on a temporary basis, without cost, to be developed at the ex-
pense of the City and used as "Instant Parks" and recreational
areas.
SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated from the un-
expended balance of the General Fund the sum of Ten Thousand and
N01100 Dollars ($10,000.00) to be used for the purpose of im-
proving such parks and recreational areas herein provided for and
providing related recreational equipment for same.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage.
