AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND VACATING A PORTION
OF SHERMAN STREET DEDICATED BY, AND SHOWN
ON, THE PLAT OF BIDDLE ADDITION TO THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, WHICH LIES BETWEEN
BLOCKS 2 AND 3 OF SAID BIDDLE ADDITION
WHEREAS, Arkansas Warehouse Corporation, filed a
petition with the Board of Directors of the City of Little
Rock, Arkansas, asking the Board to close, vacate and
abandon the following described portion of a street, to wit:

That portion of Sherman Street dedicated by,
and shown on, the Plat of BIDDLE ADDITION to
the City of Little Rock, Arkansas (said plat
being recorded in Plat Book 2, at Page 37, in
the office of the Recorder for Pulaski County,
Arkansas), which lies between Blocks 2 and 3
of said BIDDLE ADDITION;
WHEREAS, after due notice as required by law, the
Board of Directors has at the time and place mentioned in
the notice, heard all persons desiring to be heard on the
question and has ascertained that the petitioner is the
owner of all property abutting the portion of the street
to be closed; that the petitioner, by its petition, has
consented to the vacation of the street; that the portion
of the street to be closed is not required for public pur-
poses and has not been actually used by the public for a
much greater period than five (5) years, if in fact it was
ever so used; and that the public interest and welfare will
be benefited by abandonment of such portion of such street;
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby
releases, vacates and abandons all its right, together with
the right of the public generally, in and to the following
described portion of a street, to wit:

That portion of Sherman Street dedicated
by, and shown on, the Plat of BIDDLE ADDITION
to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas (said
plat being recorded in Plat Book 2, at Page
37, in the office of the Recorder for Pulaski
County, Arkansas), which lies between Blocks
2 and 3 of said BIDDLE ADDITION.
Section 2. A copy of this ordinance, duly certified
by the City Clerk, shall be filed in the office of the
Recorder and recorded in the Deed Records of Pulaski County,
Arkansas.
Section 3. Whereas, the existence of that portion of
Sherman Street dedicated by, and shown on, the Plat of
Biddle Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, which
lies between Blocks 2 and 3 of said Biddle Addition, is
adverse to the public interest and welfare, an emergency
is declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect
and be in force from and after its passage.
