ORDINANCE NO. 120225
AN ORDINANCE GRANTING TO JEFFIE SHERIFF DISABILITY
RETIREMENT BENEFITS UNDER SECTION 2 -24 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK- AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Jeffie Sheriff was employed by the City of Little
Rock on July 18, 1950 and has been continuously employed to the
present time when due to a physical disability he is found to be
entitled to disability retirement benefits to become effective
June 1, 1969 comprising a term of 18 years, 10 months and 13 days;
and
WHEREAS, under Section 2 -24 of the Code of Ordinances of
the City of Little Rock, it is the policy of the Board of Directors
to continue to pay disabled employees at the rate of pay on the
date of retirement and in this case for a period of 18 months and
25 days commencing June 1, 1969; subject, however, to deductions
from said monthly pay equal to the aggregate of sums hereinafter
received by Jeffie Sheriff or to which he would be entitled
provided he filed proper application under the non - uniformed
employment plan with Mutual of New York, together with such funds
as shall be received hereafter monthly by said Jeffie Sheriff or
that he would receive had proper application been filed, if any,
as disability benefits under the Social Security Administration
Program of the United States of America.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY.OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The City Manager and Director of Finance are
hereby authorized and directed to continue the salary established
for Jeffie Sheriff as of June 1, 1969 and to pay same monthly in
the nature of disability retirement benefits beginning June 1,
1969 for a period of 18 months, 25 days. Provided, however, the

monthly benefits herein authorized shall be reduced by the amount
that the said Jeffie Sheriff receives or would receive had applica-
tion been made monthly as benefits for non - uniformed employees
authorized under contract with Mutual of New York: and provided
further that six months from the date of said retirement said
benefits will be reduced additionally by the amount of benefits
received or which would be received had application been made from
the Social Security Administration of the Federal Government,
SECTION 2. Jeffie Sheriff shall be required to make
available to the City Manager an accounting of all monies received
from Mutual of New York under the cityfs non - uniformed benefits
plan and from the Social Security Administration of the Federal
Government.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage.
