AN ORDINANCE AMENDING IN PART SECTION 2 -23
OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES FOR THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, SAME BEING SECTION
DEALING WITH VACATION, SICK LEAVE AND
MILITARY LEAVE-, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. Section 2 -23 (c) of the Code of Ordinances
of the City,of Little Rock is hereby amended to read as follows:
(c) Every full -time employee who has worked regularly
co in the service of the city for one year or more
in shall become eligible for fifteen work days' sick
leave benefits after the first year. Sick leave
days shall accrue at the rate of fifteen days for
9 r every year of paid service; however, no employee
'-' "' will be permitted to accumulate more than sixty
work days' sick leave. The provisions of this
• section shall not apply to sick leave provisions
�z7 enacted by the General Assembly, State of Arkansas,
o (r, 0- relating to certain uniformed employees.

A SECTION 2. Section 2 -23 (d) shall be amended to read as

aoi (d) The sick leave shall be allowed only when: The
employee is too ill or injured to be able to work
safely. Requests for sick leave shall be in
writing signed by the employee, stating the reasons
for the leave and have approval of the department head.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage.
