AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING
PORTIONS OF FACTORIA AVENUE AND 17TH STREET
IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, A Petition was duly filed by the Airport
Commission of the City of Little Rock with the Board of
Directors of said city, asking the Board to vacate, abandon
and close portions of Factoria Avenue and 17th Street, same
being more particularly described hereafter; and
WHEREAS, after due notice as required by Law, the Board
of Directors, at the time and place mentioned in the Notice,
heard all persons desiring to be heard on the question and
has ascertained that said streets are no longer needed or
required for use by the general public and adjoining owners
in that other streets are available or will be made available
for these purposes; that the Airport Commission is the only
owner of lands abutting upon the streets to be vacated and
accordingly all abutting land owners have consented to such
abandonment and that the public interest and welfare will not
be adversly affected by the abandonment thereof.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: The City of Little Rock hereby releases,
vacates and abandons all its rights, together with the rights
of the public generally to portions of Factoria Avenue and 17th
Street being more particularly described as follows:
The tract of land being the Factoria Avenue Right-of-way,
lying between East Roosevelt Road and East 17th Street,
and a portion of East 17th Street, all in Section 7 and
12, Township 1 North, Range 11 West, Pulaski. County,
Arkansas, more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the SW-Corner, SEXA,SEh of said Section 7;
thence East 30 feet to a point on the East Right-of-way
line of Factoria Avenue being the point of beginning;
thence North 2595.7 feet along said East Right-of-way
line to a point on the South Right-of-way line of East
17th Street; thence East 1271.5 feet along said South
Right-of-way line to the East line of Section 7; thence
North 10 feet along the East line of Section 7; thence
East 300 feet along said South Right -of -way line; thence

North 40 feet to the North Right-of-way line of East
17th Street; thence West 300 feet along. said North Right-
of-way line to a point on the East line of Section 7;
thence North 10 feet along said East line of Section 7;
thence West 1308 feet along said North-Right-of-way
line to the West Right-of-way line of-Factoria Avenue;
thence South 2898.9 feet along said West Right-of-way
line to a point on the North Right - of-way line of East
Roosevelt Road; thence East 60 feet to a point on the
East Right -of -way line of Factoria Avenue; thence North
245.2 feet along the East Right -of -way line of Factoria
Avenue to the point of beginning and containing 6.1
acres, more or less.
SECTION 2 That the rights now held by any public
utility company, under the laws of the State of-Arkansas or
under grants heretofore made by the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, to use the streets and alleys as described above in
Section 1, for the location and operation of lines and facilities
for the furnishing of public utility services shall not be
abrogated, diminished or changed by the enactment of this
Ordinance, and utility easements now in effect are specifically
excepted from this closing.
SECTION 3. A copy of this Ordinance, duly certified by
the City Clerk, shall be filed in the office of the Recorder
of Pulaski County, Arkansas; and recorded in the deed records
of said County.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval.
