AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, OF TRACTS NO. 1, 2 AND A
PART OF TRACT NO. 4, SOUTHWEST CITY COMMERCIAL SUB-
DIVISION TO PULASKI COUNTY, ARKANSAS, WHICH LAND IS
CONTIGUOUS TO THE PRESENT CITY LIMITS AND RECLASSIFY-
ING A PART OF TRACT 4 BY AMENDING SECTION 43 -2 OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, upon the Petition of Southwest City, Inc. and
Shell Oil Company, and after due notice of a hearing on said
Petition, which notice was published for the time and in the
manner prescribed by law, the County Court of Pulaski County,
Arkansas, did on July 31, 1968, enter its Order annexing the
area more specifically described in Section 1 hereof to the City
of Little Rock; and
WHEREAS, more than thirty days have elapsed within which
any interested person could institute proceedings in the Circuit
Court of Pulaski County, Arkansas, to prevent said annexation,
and there appeared no protestants to this annexation; and
WHEREAS, the area hereinafter particularly described in
Section I hereof is contiguous to and adjoins the existing City
Limits of the City of Little Rock, and all proceedings prerequi-
site to the annexation of said area have been conducted as required
by law; and
WHEREAS, it is now desirable that said area, as hereinafter
specifically described in Section I, be annexed to the City of
Little Rock;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION I. That the following described territory in Pulas-
ki County, Arkansas, to -wit:

Tracts No. 1, 2 and a part of Tract No. 4, Southwest
City Commercial Subdivision to Pulaski County, Arkansas,
which part of Tract No. 4 is more particularly described,
as: Beginning at the Northwest corner of Tract #1 said
Subdivision; thence N 890 -03' W, 20.0' to a point on
the City limits of the City of Little Rock; thence N 00
-07' W along said City limits and 20' West of a paral-
lel with the East right -of -way line of Geyer Springs
Road, 105.3'; thence continue along said City limits
and 20' West of and parallel with the East right -of -way
line of Geyer Springs Road, N 00 - 41' W, 433.31; thence
N 890 - 19' E along said City limits, 357.5'; thence N
00 - 41' W along said City limits, 50.0'; thence S 890
- 03' E, 358.0'; thence S 00 57' W 319.61; thence N 890
- 03' W, 16.0'; thence S 00 57' W 298.4'; thence N 890
- 03' W and parallel to the North right -of -way line of
Dreher Lane, 493.8' to a point of the East line of Tract
#1 said subdivision; thence N 00 07' W along said East
line 33.6' to the Northeast corner thereof; thence N
890 -03' W along the North line of said Tract #1, 170.0'
to the point of beginning.
be, and the same is hereby accepted as annexed to, and is hereby
made a part of the incorporated area of the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas; and that said lands be, and the same are hereby assigned
and attached to the Third Ward of said City.
SECTION II. That the zone classification of the following
property be and is hereby changed from "A "- One - family District
to "F "- Commercial District, to -wit:
A part of Tract 4 Southwest City Commercial Subdivision
to Pulaski County, Arkansas more particularly described
as: Beginning at the NW corner of Tract 1 said Subdivision;

the City of Little Rock; thence N 00 - 07'W along said
City limits and 20' W of a parallel with the E right -of -way
line of Geyer Springs Rd., 105.3'; thence continue along
said City limits and 20' W of and parallel with the E right -
of -way line of Geyer Springs Rd., N 00 -41' W, 433.3'; thence
N 890 -19' E along said City limits, 357.5'; thence N O° -41'
W along said City limits, 50.0'; thence S 890 - 03'E, 358.0';

SECTION III. That the map referred to in Section 43 -2 of
the Code of Ordinances of the City of Little Rock and designated

"District Map" be, and it is hereby amended to the extent and
in the respects necessary to effect and designate the change
provided for in Section II hereof.
SECTION IV. It is hereby ascertained and declared that
the lands above described and hereby annexed are being devoted
strictly to urban uses; that there are valuable improvements to
be made thereon, and that said lands have been platted and are
being developed in accordance with the Ordinances and regulations
of the City of Little Rock, and that in order to secure the bene-
fits to be derived from compliance with the Ordinances and Regula-
tions of the City concerning development of the above described
lands, it is necessary that the said lands be immediately annexed.
It is, therefore, declared that an emergency exists, and this
Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of public peace,
health and safety of the area shall be in full force and take ef-
fect immediately on and after its passage.
