12361ORDINANCE, N&.- 12,361 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION, USE, OCCUPANCY AND MAINTENANCE OF AN OVER- HEAD STRUCTURE ACROSS THE ALLEY INTERSECTING BLOCK 106, ORIGINAL CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. SECTION 1. Arkansas Hotel Corporation in Little Rock, Arkansas, organized and existing as a corporation under the laws of the State of Arkansas, its successors and assigns, is hereby authorized to construct, use, occupy and maintain an overhead structure crossing the alley intersecting Block 106, Original City of Little Rock, Arkansas. SECTION 2. Said overhead structure or canopy shall be 35 feet long, the center point of which will be 161 feet, more or less, south of the center line of West 6th Street, which canopy shall extend 28 feet over said alley and shall be 15 feet at its lowest point above the alleyway. SECTION 3. Said overhead structure shall be constructed in accordance with plans and specifications to be submitted to and approved by an authorized representative of the City of Little Rock prior to the beginning of such construction. SECTION 4. The City of Little Rock, in granting this franchise, reserves the right to have the said overhead structure or canopy removed at the cost and expense of Arkansas Hotel Corporation if it should ever become necessary from the standpoint of the public welfare that same be removed. SECTION 5. It is hereby found that the construction herein authorized is needful and important from the standpoint of the public welfare and that the postponement of the effective date of this Ordinance will cause harmful delay in the construction of said facility. Therefore# an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public welfare, peace and health, shall take effect and be in force from and after the date of its passage.
