AN ORDINANCE AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION ON MISSISSIPPI STREET; CANCEL-
LING STREET FUND RESERVES; APPROPRIATING
$277,265.00 FROM THE UNEXPENDED BALANCE OF
THE 1965 IMPROVEMENT CONSTRUCTION FUND;
AUTHORIZING PAYMENT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, invitation to bid was duly advertised and bids
received pursuant thereto according to law for the widening of Mississippi
Street in the City of Little Rock; and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsible and responsive bidders have
been determined and it is the desire of the Board of Directors to authorize
the construction on Mississippi Street by the lowest responsible and res-
ponsive bidders.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The lowest responsible and responsive bids on con-
tract for the widening of Mississippi Street is hereby accepted and con-
tract awarded as follows:

Construction on Mississippi
Street Pulaski Construction Co. $411,482.63
SECTION 2. The sums of money totaling $75,600 reserved in the
Street Fund by Ordinances 11,992 and 11,854 for University and "A" Street
Intersection are herewith cancelled and the transfer of the $75,600 from
the Street Fund to the 1965 Improvement Construction Fund is hereby
'authorized for the purpose of providing funds for Mississippi Street
widening.
''SECTION 3. There is hereby appropriated from funds available
in the 1965 Improvement Construction Fund the sum of $277,265.00 for
completion of Mississippi Street widening.
SECTION 4. Upon completion of the widening of Mississippi
Street, complying in all respects with the bidding specifications and
bid proposal, the City Manager and Director of Finance are hereby author-
ized and directed to execute the necessary warrant or warrants in payment
of said purchase price.

SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage.
