NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. SECTION 1. Section 2 -23 (a) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Little Rock is hereby amended to read as follows: (a) Vacation for regular full -time non - uniform employees of the City shall accrue at the rate of five-sixths (5/6) working day per month service for employees who have less than ten (10) years service and at the rate of one and one - quarter (1 -1/4) working days per month for employees who have more than ten (10) years service. Regularly scheduled vacations may be taken upon completion of one year full -time service. At least two - thirds (2/3) of all accrued vacation must be taken during the twelve (12) month period immediately following the anniversary date of employment, and the time which an employee shall take his vacation shall be determined by the department head with due regard to the wishes of such employee and particular regard for the need of his service. No employee will be allowed to accrue more than thirty (30) working days of vacation. SECTION 2. Section 2 -23 (c) shall be amended to read as follows: (c) Every full -time employee who has worked regularly in the service of the City for six months or more shall become eligible for sick leave benefits after six months, accumulated at the rate of one and one quarter (1 -1/4) work days of sick leave per month of paid service; however, no employee will be allowed to accumulate more than sixty (60) work days of sick leave. If sickness occurs before the end of the initial six month period of employment, the department head may advance an employee sick leave; and if he terminates prior to completion of six months of employment, such advanced sick leave shall be deducted from his final compensation. The provision of this section shall not apply to sick leave provisions enacted by the General Assembly, State of Arkansas, relating to certain uniformed employees. oco bfr' F_-S s' -2- SECTION 3.
