ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS, VACATING AND CLOSING THE STREET IN BLOCK
5, BOOKER HEIGHTS ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, a petition was duly filed with the Board of Directors
of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, on the 8th day of April, 1971, ask-
ing the Board of Directors to vacate and abandon part of the Young
street in Block 5, Booker Heights Addition to the City of Little Rock,
as designated on the plat of said Addition now appearing of record in
Deed Book 1, Page 90, in the office of the Recorder of Pulaski County,
Arkansas, subject, however, to any public easements in said street;
and
WHEREAS, after due notices as required by law, the Board of
Directors has, at the time and place mentioned in the notice, heard
all persons desiring to be heard on the question and has ascertained that
the street, hereinbef ore described, has heretofore been dedicated to
the public use as a street, as herein described; has not been actually
used by the public generally for a period of at least five (5) years
subsequent to the filing of the plat; that all of the owners of the
property abutting upon the alley to be vacated have filed with the
Board of Directors their written consent to such abandonr�ent; and
that public interest and welfare will not be adversely affected by
the abandonment of such street;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby releases,
vacates and abandons all its rights, together with the rights of the
public generally, in and to the street designated as follows:
All that part of Young Street in Booker Heights Addition
to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, lying East of Rodney
Parham Road and West of Battle Street, except that portion
of said street more particularly described as follows:
A part of Young street between Block 5 and what was
formerly platted as Block 12 of Booker Heights Addition,
a subdivision of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest
Quarter of Section 34, Township 2 North, Range 13 West,
Pulaski County, Arkansas, more particularly described
as follows: Starting at an iron pin at the Northwest
Corner of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter
of Section 34; thence South Olo 36' 30" West along the

West line thereof a distance of 561.2 feet to a point
on the existing northeasterly right of way line of
Rodney Parham Road; thence South 580 56' 30" East along
said existing right of way line a distance of 183.5 feet
to a point; thence southeasterly along said existing
right of way line on a curve right, having a radius of
2894.79 feet, a distance of 20.6 feet to a point on the
existing northerly right of way line of Young Street and
the point of beginning; thence South 870 56' 30" East
along said existing right of way line a distance of 59.7
feet to a point on the proposed northerly right of way
line of Rodney Parham Road; thence South 76 24' 04"
East along said proposed right of way line a distance of
100.3 feet to a point; thence North 870 52' 22" West a
distance of 123.2 feet to a point on the existing north-
easterly right of way line of Rodney Parham Road; thence
northwesterly along said existing right of way line on
a curve left, having a radius of 2,894.79 feet, a dis-
tance of 40.1 feet to the point of beginning and
containing 1,822 square feet.

street.
SECTION 2. A copy of this Ordinance, duly certified by the City
Clerk, shall be filed in the office of the Recorder of Pulaski County
and recorded in the Deed Records of the County.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage.
