ORDINANCE NO. 12.438
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE "TOPICS"
BUDGET OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK BY
APPROPRIATION FROM STREET FUNDS AND
TRANSFERS FROM EXISTING LUDGETED FUNDS;
PROVIDING PERSONNEL TO CARRY OUT TOPICS
PROGRAM; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS, the City has heretofore adopted Resolution No. 4495
approving the participation by the City of Little Rock in the
TOPICS program to increase capacity and safety on public streets
sponsored by the U. S. Department of Transportation and desires
to provide a budget and personnel to make possible such partici-
pation.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated from the unexpended
balance of the Street Fund the sum of $66,355.00 to the TOPICS
budget account, which sum will be refunded to the City by the
Federal Government representing 50% of the now known total budget
for TOPICS of the City of Little Rock.
SECTION 2. In addition to the funds appropriated in Section 1
hereof the City of Little Rock is providing the TOPICS budget with
the sum of $66,355.00 from the following sources:
A. Transfer of the sum of $15,000.00 from the 1971 City
budget to the TOPICS Budget from the following accounts:
Account No. 93 -7.09
Account No. 94 -7.05

$ 10,000.00
B. Funds encumbered in the 1970 City budget for the purpose
of TOPICS budget and identified by account and amounts as follows:

positions are hereby created to serve as TOPICS personnel with
salary provisions set opposite:

B. One part time Traffic Tech 1,100.00
C. Three Traffic Tech I for
three months @ $340.00 per
month each 3,060.00
TOTAL SALARY $11,310.00
FICA 588.00
TOTAL SALARY AND FICA $11,898.00
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage.
