12631ORDINANCE NO. 12,631 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTION 135 OF SECTION 21 -13.1 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES PERTAINING TO A SCHEDULE OF LICENSE TAXES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,' ARKANSAS. SECTION 1. Subsection 135 of Section 21 -13.1 of the Code of Ordinances providing a schedule of license taxes is hereby amended to read as follows: (135) CONTRACTORS: (a) General Building. Any person, firm or corporation who engages in the business of supervising construction, alteration, or repairs of buildings, other than resi- dential, as provided in Subsection (b) hereof, in the City of Little Rock and who has the general direction and control over tradesmen and/or subcontractors, shall be classified as a "general building contractor." The license shall be as follows: Class 1 - Any contractor obtaining a building permit not exceeding $30,000.00 employing up to 5 mechanics . $100.00 Each additional mechanic or employee 10.00 Class 2 - Any contractor obtaining a building permit not exceeding $100,000.00 employing up to 5 mechanics . Each additional mechanic or employee . Class 3 - Any contractor obtaining a building permit in excess of $100,000.00 employing up to 5 mechanics e Each Additional mechanic or employee Number of mechanics shall be based on the average number employed; not the minimum number employed during the year. No permit shall be issued until license is paid to city collector. (b) Residential Building. 1. Single Family - Any person, firm or corporation, who engages in the business of supervising con- struction, alteration, or repairs of residential buildings, single family through fourplex, in the City of Little Rock . In the event that the above defined "Residential Builder - Single Family" engages in construction activities other than those above stated, the amount of this license tax shall be credited towards any additional Privilege Tax due under other subsections. 2. Class 1. Permit for multi - family not exceeding $100,000.00 . . Class 2.
