ORDINANCE NO. 12,621
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO APPLICATION
FOR GRANT TO ACQUIRE AND /OR DEVELOP LAND FOR OPEN
SPACE PURPOSES IN PROJECT NO. OSC -23; APPROPRIATING
THE SUM OF $14,800 FROM THE 1965 IMPROVEMENT CON -
STRUCTION FUND FOR PARKS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock has heretofore on April 7, 1970
made application to the Department.of Housing and Urban Development
for a Grant to acquire and /or develop land for open space purposes in
Project No. OSC -23 contemplating the acquisition and development of
two park areas, one to be identified as Pettaway Park and the other
as East End Levee Park; and
WHEREAS, Pettaway Park has been acquired and developed in keeping
with said application and in lieu of East End Levee Park the East End
Center Park has been acquired and developed in the close proximity of
the planned-East End Levee Park and intended to substitute for said
East End Levee Park; and
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock desires to amend the Application
for Project No. OSC -23 to delete from the said application the pro-
visions for the East End Levee Park and utilize the $25,000.00 local
share therein allocated for such to defray in part the cost -of acquisi-
tion and development of East End Center Park.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF_THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to delete from Project No. OSC -23 the provision for acquisition of
East End Levee Park and submit a final billing to close out Project
No. OSC -23.
SECTION 2. The $25,000 local share of the East End Levee Park
is- hereby reallocated to the East End Center Project to defray in

part the cost of acquisition and development of said park.
SECTION'3: There is hereby appropriated from the 1965 Improve -
ment'Coristruction'Fund for Parks the sum of $14,800.00 to be used
together with other funds to provide for the acquisition and /or
development of Hanger Hill Park, Pettaway Park, Pfeifer Park and
East End Center Park.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall be in full.force and effect
from,, and after its passage.
