ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, VACATING AND
CLOSING THE WEST HALF OF A PORTION OF FERRY
STREET LOCATED NORTH OF EAST MARKHAM STREET
BETWEEN LOT 12, BLOCK 3, POPE'S ADDITION TO
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK AND LOT 7, BLOCK 4,
POPE'S ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK
IN PULASKI COUNTY, ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, a Petition was duly filed with the Board of Directors
of the City of Little Rock, on the 6th day of January, 1972, asking the
Board of Directors to vacate and abandon a portion of Ferry Street located
North of East Markham Street between Lot 12, Block 3, Pope's Addition
to theCity of Little Rock and Lot 7, Block 4, Pope's Addition to the City
of Little Rock, in Pulaski County, Arkansas, as designated on the Plat
of said Addition now appearing of record in Deed Book H, at Page 30, in
the Office of the Recorder of Pulaski County, Arkansas, subject, however,
to any public utility easements in said street, and
WHEREAS, after due notice as required by law, the Board of Directors,
has, at the time and place mentioned in the notice, heard all persons
desiring to be heard on the question and has ascertained that the street,
hereinafter described, has heretofore been dedicated to the public as a
street, as herein described; is not presently being used by the public
generally as a travelled way; that the owners of the property abutting the
street to be vacated on the west, Lorene Crank Lloyd and J. T. Lloyd Com-
pany, have filed with the Board of Directors their written consent and request
for such abandonment, and the other abutting owner on the east, the Arkansas
State Highway Commission, has no objection to and concurs in the closing,
and that the public interest and welfare will not be adversely affected by
the abandonment of the West Half of sm h street, expressly retaining public
utility easements located therein.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby re-
leases, vacates and abandons all its rights, together with the rights of
the public generally, in and to the West Half of a portion of Ferry Street
described as follows:
Beginning at the SE corner of Lot 12, Block 3,
Pope's Addition to the City of Little Rock; run
thence North along the East boundary line of
said Lot 12 to the Northeast corner thereof;
run thence East along the North boundary line
of said Lot 12 extended to the East a distance
of thirty (3 0) feet to the cez ter line of Ferry
Street; run thence South along the center line
of Ferry Street to the South boundary line of
said Lot 12 extended to the East, which bound-
ary line is also the North right of way line of
East Markham Street; run thence West along the
North right of way line of East Markham Street
a distance of thirty (30) feet to the point of be-
ginning. (Same being also described as: the
West Half of that portion of Ferry Street located
North of East Markham Street and between Lot 12,
Block 3, Pope's Addition to the City of Little Rock,
and Lot 7, Block 4, Pope's Addition to the City of
Little Rock) .
Subject, however, to all public utility easements located in the West Half
of said portion of Ferry Street.
SECTION 2. A copy of this Ordinance, duly certified by the City
Clerk, shall be filed in the Office of the Recorder of Pulaski County, Arkansas,
and recorded in the Deed Records of the County.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its passage.
