12588t' ORDINANCE NO. 129588 AN ORDINANCE CONDEMNING CERTAIN BUILDINGS IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK AS STRUCTURAL, FIRE AND HEALTH HAZARDS;DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO TAKE SUCH ACTION AS IS NECESSARY TO RAZE AND DEMOLISH SAID BUILD- INGS; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES WHEREAS, certain buildings in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, have become run -down, dilapidated, unsafe, unsightly, dangerous, obnoxious, and detrimental to the public welfare of the citizens of the City of Little Rock; and WHEREAS, the condition of these properties constitutes a serious structural, fire and health hazard; and WHEREAS, immediate action is necessary to remedy this situation and said buildings should be razed either by the owners or by the City of Little Rock. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. SECTION 1. That owners of the following described properties are hereby ordered to remove or raze said buildings immediately upon the effective date of this Ordinance. The Department of Community Development of the City of Little Rock will, immediately, notify the owners of the properties listed below of the passage of this Ordinance by certified mail. The properties on which the condemned buildings are located and legal description of the said properties is as follows: LEGAL DESCRIPTION Lots 3 and 4, Block 4, Tuxedo Extension Addition to -the City of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas SECTION 2. The condition of the buildings on the above described property is found to be a structural, fire and health hazard. v''c -'7A r -!f `A� SECTION 3. The City Attorney is hereby directed to institute legal proceedings against such persons as may be necessary in order to enforce the provisions of this Ordinance and to remedy the unsightly and dangerous conditions brought about as the result of the failure of the owners thereto to keep up this property. SECTION 4. The legal proceedings authorized in Section 3 hereof shall provide that if the building is not razed within a certain period to be allowed by the Court, the City of Little Rock be authorized to raze said property and have a lien upon real estate for the costs of removing said building. SECTION 5. Unless the provisions of this Ordinance are put into effect immediately, the public peace, health and safety of the citizens of Little Rock will be adversely affected; therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
