AN ORDINANCE AWARDING A CONTRACT TO
JACK MORGAN CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC.
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF MODEL CITIES
NEIGHBORHOOD FACILITY ON EAST SIXTH
STREET, IDENTIFIED AS PROJECT ARK -N -42;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS, invitations for bids for the construction of the Model
Cities Neighborhood Facility on East Sixth Street, Project ARK -N -42
in the Model Cities Program, have been duly advertised and bids re-
ceived pursuant thereto, all in accordance with law; and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsible and responsive bid received for
the construction was that of Jack Morgan Construction Company, Inc.,
in the amount of $698,698.00; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors desire to award a contract to
said low bidder less the amount of the deductible alternate No. 1 of
$20,000.00 for a contract price of $678,698.00.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute
a contract for and on behalf of the Model Cities Program of Little
Rock, Arkansas with Jack Morgan Construction Company, Inc. for the
construction of a Model Cities Neighborhood Facility on East Sixth
Street in the amount of $678,6'98.00 as provided for by plans, speci-
fications and bid proposals on file in the office of the Purchasing
Agent, which contract shall be in form and substance as follows:

SECTION 2. The funds to pay the contract price above set forth
shall be provided and paid from Model Cities funds.
SECTION 3. The City Manager and Director of Finance are hereby
authorized and directed to issue the necessary warrant or warrants in
payment of the contract price herein identified upon the completion
of construction, complying in all respects with the plans and specifi-
cations and bid proposal as identified.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage. Ordinance No. 12,512 is hereby repealed.

hereinafter called "Contractor."
WITNESSETTI: That for and in consideration of the payments and agreements
hereinafter mentioned, to be made and performed by the OWNEM, the CONTRACTOR
hereby agrees with the OWTM. to commence and complete the construction
described as follows: Nodel Cities Neighborhood Facility on East Sixth Street
in Tittle Rock, Arkansas, Project No. ARK N -42
(Base Bid $698,698.00 less Alternate No. 1, $20,000.00)
SIX HUNDRED SEVENTY EIGHT THOUSAND
hereinafter called the project, for the sum of SIX HUNDRED NINETY EIGHT AND N0 1100
Dollars ($ 678,698.00 ) and all. extra work in connection therewith, under tine
terms as stated in the General and Special Conditions of the Contract; and
at his (its or their) own proper cost and expense to furnish all the materials,
supplies, machinery, equipment, tools, superintendence, labor, insurance, and
other accessories and services necessary to complete the said project in accord-
ance with the conditions and prices stated in the Proposal, the General Condi-
tions, Supplemental General Ccnditions and Special Conditions of the Contract,
the plans, which include all maps, plats, blue prints, and other drawings and
printed or written explanatory matter thereof, the specifications and contract
documents therefor as prepared by lgittenber�;, Delony_& Davidson, Inc.
herein entitled the Architect /Engineer, and as enumerated in Paragraph 1 of
the Supplemental General Conditions, all of which are made a part hereof and
collectively evidence and constitute the contract.
The Contractor hereby agrees to commence work under this contract on or
before a date to be specified in a written "Notice to Proceed" of the Owner
and to fully complete the project within 4£30 consecutive calendar days
thereafter. The Contractor further agrees to pay, as liquidated damages, the
sum of $ 50.00 for each consecutive calendar day thereafter as herein-
after provided in Paragraph 19 of the General Conditions.
The OWNM agrees to pay the CON'T'RACTOR in current funds for the perform-
ance of the contract, subject to additions and deductions, as provided in
the General Conditions of the Contract, and to make payments on account thereof
as provided in Paragraph 25, "Payments to Contractor ", of the General Condi-
tions.

tract in sip; (6) counterparts, each of which shall be deemed an original, in
the year and day first above mentioned.
