ORDINANCE NO. 12,696
AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, OF A TRACT OF LAND DESCRIBED
AS THE: SOUTHAVEN COURT ADDITION, being the SW4 of the
SW4 of the NW'J of the SE34- of Section 31, Township 1
North, Range 12 West, Pulaski County, Arkansas, con-
taining 2.42 Acres, WHICH LAND IS CONTIGUOUS TO THE
PRESENT CITY LIMITS, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, upon the petition of A. S. Rosen and Leatrice B.
Rosen, his wife, and P. E. Munnerlyn and Melba Munnerlyn, his
wife, and after due notice of a hearing on said peition, which
notice was published for the time and in the manner prescribed
by law, the County Court of Pulaski County, Arkansas, did on
October 19th, 1971, enter its Order annexing the area more speci-
fically described in Section 1 hereof to the City of Little
Rock; and
WHEREAS, more than thirty days have elapsed within which
any interested person could institute proceedings in the Circuit
Court of Pulaski County, Arkansas, to prevent said annexation,
and there appeared no protestants to this annexation; and
WHEREAS, the area hereinafter particularly described in
Section 1 hereof is,contiguous to and adjoins the existing city
limits of the City of Little Rock, and all proceedings pre-
requisite to the annexation of said area have been conducted as
required by law; and
WHEREAS, it is now desirable that said area, as hereinafter
specifically described in Section 1 be annexed to the City of
Little Rock;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the following described territory in Pulaski
County, Arkansas, to -wit:
SOUTHAVEN COURT ADDITION, being the SW34- of the SW34- of
the NW3,a of the SE 14- of Section 31, Township 1 North,
Range 12 West, Pulaski County, Arkansas, containing
2.42 Acres.
be, and the same hereby is accepted as annexed to, and is hereby
made a part of the incorporated area of the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas; and that said lands be, and the same are hereby assigned
ORDINANCE ACCEPTING ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF L. R. PAGE 2-
and attached to the Fourth Ward of said City.
SECTION 2. It is hereby ascertained and declared that the
lands above described and hereby annexed are being devoted strictly
to urban uses; that there are valuable improvements made thereon,
and that said lands have been platted and developed in accordance
with the Ordinances and regulations of the City of Little Rock,
and that in order to secure the benefits to be derived from
compliance with the Ordinances and regulations of the City con-
cerning development of the above described land, it is necessary
that the said lands be immediately annexed. It is, therefore,
declared that an emergency exists, and this Ordinance being
necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and
safety of the area shall be in full force and take effect immed-
iately on and after its passage.
