12914M b 0 A ro a) ro v V ORDINANCE NO. 12,914 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 13 -9 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES PERTAINING TO SMOKING IN HOTELS, MOTELS, ROOMING HOUSES, PUBLIC ELEVATORS, ETC.; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. SECTION 1. Section 13 -9 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas pertaining to the use of lighted cigarettes, cigars and pipes within public access areas within the City of Little Rock is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 13 -9 - Hotels, Motels, Rooming Houses, etc; and Public Elevators; use of lighted cigarettes, cigars and pipes restricted. (a) It shall be unlawful. for any person while in or on a bed in any hotel, rooming house, apartment house, kitchenette, motel or tourist court located within the City to smoke a lighted cigarette, cigar, pipe or tobacco in any other form. (b) It shall be unlawful for any person, while in a hotel room or in the room of a rooming house, apartment house, kitchenette, motel or tourist court, located in the city, to carelessly set fire to, burn or cause to be burned any bedding, furniture, curtains, draperies or any other household furnishings by means of any lighted cigarettes, cigars, pipes or other form of burning tobacco, or by means of matches, lighters and the like, in lighting or attempting to light any cigarette, cigar, pipe or other form of smoking tobacco. (c) It shall be unlawful for any person to smoke, light or carry any lighted cigarette, cigar, pipe, or other form of burning tobacco while riding in any elevator located within any building to which members of the general public have access. (d) Any person violating any of the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor., and upon conviction shall be fined in any sum not less than twnety -five dollars nor more than five hundred dollars."
