ORDINANCE NO. 12,911
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY ORDINANCE NO.
11,125, SECTION 39 -25 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES PERTAINING TO THE TRAFFIC -
CONTROL SIGNAL LEGEND OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. Section 39 -25 of the Code of Ordinances per-
taining to the Traffic - Control Signal Legend of the City of
Little Rock is hereby amended to read as follows:
Whenever traffic is controlled by traffic - control signals
exhibiting the words "Go ", "Caution ", or "Stop ", or
exhibiting different colored lights successively one
at a time, green arrows, or signs indicating "Right
on Red after Stop" the following colors shall be used
and said terms, lights and signals shall indicate
and apply to drivers of vehicles and pedestrians
as follows:
(a) Circular Green alone or "Go."
Vehicular traffic facing the signal may proceed
straight through or turn right or left unless a
sign at such place prohibits either such turn; but
vehicular traffic, including vehicles turning right
or left, shall yield the right -of -way to other
vehicles and to pedestrians lawfully within the
intersections on an adjacent crosswalk at the time
such signal is exhibited.
Pedestrians facing the signal may proceed across
the roadway within any marked or unmarked
crosswalk.
(b) Circular Yellow alone of "Caution" when shown following
the green or "Go" signal.
Vehicular traffic facing the signal is thereby
warned that the red or "Stop" signal will be
exhibited immediately thereafter and such vehicular
traffic shall not enter or cross the intersection
when the red or "Stop" signal is exhibited.
Pedestrians facing such signal are thereby advised
that there is insufficient time to cross the roadway,
and any pedestrian then starting to cross shall yield
the right -of -way to all vehicles.
(c) Red alone or "Stop."
Vehicular traffic facing the signal shall stop
before entering the crosswalk on the near side of the
intersection or if none, then before entering the

intersection, and shall remain standing until green
or "Go" is shown alone, except that vehicular traffic
facing such signal may, after coming to a complete
stop, cautiously enter the intersection for the purpose
of making a right turn only when a sign indicating
"Right Turn on Red (Permitted)" is displayed at the
intersection.
No Pedestrian facing such signal shall enter the
roadway unless he can do so safely and without
interfering with any vehicular traffic.
(d) Green Arrows
There shall be no green arrows used except when
the movement indicated or allowed by such green
arrows is protected by traffic signaling so that
there is no conflict with other vehicular traffic
or with pedestrians crossing in conformance
with a walk indication.
(e) In the event an official traffic - control signal is
erected and maintained at a place other than an
intersection, the provisions of this section shall
be applicable except as to those provisions which
by their nature can have no application. Any stop
required shall be made at a sign or marking on the
pavement indicating where the stop shall be made, but
in the absence of any such sign or marking the stop
shall be made at the signal.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage.
