ORDINANCE NO 12,905
AN ORDINANCE CONDEMNING CERTAIN PARCELS OF
REAL PROPERTY TO BE USED FOR PARKS AND
PARKWAY AND ROADWAY PURPOSES; DIRECTING THE
CITY ATTORNEY TO INSTITUTE CONDEMNATION
PROCEEDINGS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock does hereby condemn
for parks and parkway and roadway purposes the following
parcels of real property lying in the City of Little Rock,
County of Pulaski, State of Arkansas, to -wit:
A tract of land described as all of the NE4 NW41
Section 22, T -2 -N, R -13 -W, Pulaski County, Arkansas,
cv South of the C/L of Little Maumelle River, excluding
the 100 foot R/W of the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific
N Railroad, and the 60 foot I -430 frontage road R/W and
approximately 1.25 + acres of land bounded by the South
line of the 100 foot Railroad R/W and the S plat line
of said NE4 NW4, Section 22.

Beginning at a point on the centerline of Little Maumelle
River and the common property line between the Pulaski
County Penal Farm land and said Mike N. Sullivan, et al,
said point being south 460 00' west approximately 1,920.00

This tract contains 488.67 acres, more or less.
SECTION 2. The City Attorney is hereby authorized and
directed to file in the proper court proceedings for the con-
demnation of the property described in section 1 hereof, and
to secure an order of such court permitting the City to take
immediate possession of said property upon posting a bond
in an amount to be determined by the court and to do any and
all other things necessary in order to obtain immediate
possession of said property.
SECTION 3. The acquisition and development of the lands
described in this Ordinance for parks, parkway and roadway
purposes along the Arkansas River is critical to the public
peace, health and safety of all citizens of the City of
Little Rock, therefore, an emergency is declared to exist
and it being necessary to protect the public peace, health
and safety, this ordinance shall be effective immediately
upon its passage.
