AN ORDINANCE AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR IMPROVE-
MENTS IN BOYLE PARK; APPROPRIATING FUNDS;
AUTHORIZING PAYMENT; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS, invitation to bid was duly advertised and bids
received pursuant thereto according to law for construction and
installation of a sewer line to Boyle Park Maintenance Shop in
Boyle Park; and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsible and responsive bidder has
been determined and it is the desire of the Board of Directors
to authorize such construction and installation work from the
lowest responsible and responsive bidder.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. A contract is hereby awarded to Jimmy Heavrin,
d /b /a Heavrin Construction Company to construct and install a
sewer line to Boyle Park Maintenance Shop in Boyle Park in keeping
with plans and specifications on file in the office of the Pur-
chasing Department of the City of Little Rock, subject to Change
Orders, if any, at a contract price not to exceed the amount of
$11,235.00.
SECTION 2. The sum of $8,000.00 is hereby appropriated from General
Revenue Sharing Funds to defray the expenses in the said project.
SECTION 3. Upon completion of the said construction and install-
ation of the sewer line, the City Manager and Director of Finance are
hereby authorized and directed to issue the necessary warrant or warrants
in payment thereof, or from time to time as may be deemed necessary.
SECTION 4. It has been determined that this project should be
completed as soon as is possible, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared
to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the immediate preservation
of the public health, safety and welfare shall be in force and effect
immediately upon its passage.
