AN ORDINANCE APPROVING PHASE II OF THE GEYER
SPRINGS ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AND COMMITTING
THE CITY'S PARTICIPATION IN THE COST THEREOF;
APPROPRIATING FUNDS; AUTHORIZING THE PREPARATION
OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE WIDENING AND
IMPROVING OF JOHN BARROW ROAD FROM MARKHAM STREET
TO 12th STREET; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock hereby approves and
commits itself to participate in the widening and improving
of Geyer Springs Road identified by the Arkansas Highway De-
partment as Phase II extending the four -lane thoroughfare be-
tween Interstate 30 and 65th Street. The sum of $300,000.00
is hereby appropriated from the unexpended balance of the
Street Fund to be used for paying the City's share of the
cost of said improvements.
SECTION 2. The widening and improving of John Barrow
Road from Markham Street to 12th Street in the City of Little
Rock is hereby approved and the staff of the City is hereby
authorized and directed to proceed with the preparation of
plans and specifications for such improvements with the ex-
pectation that bids for the construction thereof shall be
invited early in the year 1976.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage.
