ORDINANCE NO. 12,978
ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS, VACATING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF THE ALLEY IN BLOCK 22,
JONES & WORTHEN ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, a petition was duly filed with the Board of Directors of the City of
Little Rock, Arkansas, on the 6th day of September, 1974, asking the Board of
Directors to vacate and abandon a portion of the alley in Block 22, Jones & Worthen
Addition to the City of Little Rock, as designated on the plat of said Addition now
appearing of record in Deed Book 32, Page 98, in the Office of the Recorder of
Pulaski County, Arkansas, subject, however, to any public easements in said alley;
and
WHEREAS, after due notices as required by law, the Board of Directors has, at
the time and place mentioned in the notice, heard all persons desiring to be heard on
the question and has ascertained that the alley, hereinbefore described, has hereto-
fore been dedicated to the public use as an alley, as herein described; has not been
actually used by the public generally for a period of at least five (5) years sub-
sequent to the filing of the plat; that all of the owners of the property abutting
upon the portion of the alley to be vacated have filed with the Board of Directors
their written consent to such abandonment; and that public interest and welfare will
not be adversely affected by the abandonment of such portion of the alley;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby releases, vacates and
abandons all its rights, together with the rights of the public generally, in and to
the portion of alley designated as follows:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of Lot 7, Block 22, Jones & Worthen
Addition; thence East 56 feet; thence North 5 feet; thence West 6 feet;
thence North 5 feet to the Southeast corner of Lot 6, Block 22, Jones &
Worthen Addition; thence West 50 feet to the Southwest corner of said
Lot 6, Block 22; thence South 10 feet to the Northwest corner of Lot 7
of Block 22 and the point of beginning,
subject, however, to any public utility easements located in said alley.
SECTION 2. A copy of this Ordinance, duly certified by the City Clerk, shall
be filed in the Office of the Recorder of Pulaski County and recorded in the Deed
Records of the County.

SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage.
