AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, OF A TRACT OF LAND LOCATED IN
THE SW -1/4 SW -1/4 of SECTION 3, TOWNSHIP 1 NORTH, RANGE
13 WEST, WHICH IS CONTIGUOUS TO THE EXISTING PRESENT
CITY LIMITS, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, upon the Petition of all the landowners of the land described
therein, and after due Notice of a hearing on said Petition, which Notice was
published for the time and in the manner prescribed by law, the County Court
of Pulaski County, Arkansas on April 1 , 1976, entered its Order annexing
the area described in Section 1 hereof to the City of Little Rock; and
WHEREAS, more than 30 days have elapsed within which interested
persons could institute proceedings in the Circuit Court of Pulaski County,
Arkansas, to prevent the annexation, and no protestants appeared; and
WHEREAS, the area described in Section 1 hereof is contiguous to and
adjoins the existing City Limits of the City of Little Rock, and all proceedings
prerequisite to the annexation of said area have been condicted as required by
law; and
WHEREAS, it is now desirable that such area be annexed to the City
of Little Rock; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKAN SAS :
Section 1. The following described territory in Pulaski County, Arkansas:
Beginning at the NW corner of said SW -1/4 SW-1/4, said corner
lying on the existing Little Rock City Limits; thence along the
existing city limits S 871 59' 38" E, 662.6 feet, said line
being the North line of said SW -1/4 SW -1/4; thence S 00° 42'
00" W, 433.2 feet to a point on the West right -of -way of
Interstate 430;, thence along said right -of -way as follows:
S 020 00' 00" W, 153.32 feet; thence S 88° 08' 06" E, 60.0
feet; thence S O10 04' 32" W, 350.5 feet; thence S 141 15'
23" E, 158.3 feet; thence S 020 00' 00" W, 160.5 feet to a
point on the North R/W of Kanis Road; thence S 02° 00' 00"
W 61.90 feet to the center line of Kanis Road and South line of
said Section 3; thence N 881 08' 06" W, 760.0 feet along said
center line and South line of said Section 3 to the SW corner of
said Section 3; thence N O1° 04' 52" E, 1313.0 feet along the
West line of Section 3 to the point of beginning, including all
of the abutting streets and right -of -way; containing 21.24
acres, more or less,

be and the same is hereby accepted as annexed to, and is hereby made a part
of the incorporated area of the City of Little Rock, A- kansas; and that said
lands be, and the same are hereby assigned and attached to the Fourth Ward
of said City.
Section 2. It is hereby ascertained and declared that the lands above
described and hereby annexed are being devoted strictly to urban uses; that
there are valuable improvements to be made thereon; and that in order to
secure the benefits to be derived from compliance with the Ordinances and
Regulations of the City of Little Rock concerning the development of the land,
it is necessary that the lands be annexed immediately. It is, therefore,
declared that an emergency exists, and this Ordinance being necessary for
the preservation of the public peace, health and safety of the area shall be
in full force and take effect immediately on and after its passage.
