AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 43 -22 (1) (a)
OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES PERTAINING TO
THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. Section 43- 22(1)(a) of the Code of Ordinances
pertaining to the Board of Adjustment is hereby amended to read
as follows:
(a) "A Board of Zoning Adjustment is hereby established.
The word "board" when used in this section shall be
construed to mean the board of zoning adjustment.
The board shall consist of seven members who shall
be qualified electors of the city who are appointed
by the city manager and approved by the board of
directors. One member of the board shall be an
architect; one member of the board shall be an
engineer; one member of the board shall be a member
of the Little Rock Real Estate Board; and four members
of the board shall be laymen. The term of office of
the members of the board shall be for three years.
Vacancies shall be filled for the unexpired term of
the member whose place has become vacant by the city
manager subject to the approval of the city board
of directors. The appointing authority shall have
the power to remove any member of the board for cause
and after public hearing; provided, however, any
member of the board who shall be absent from three
or more consecutive regular meetings shall be removed
from office without hearing upon certification of
such fact by the secretary of the board to the city
manager."
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage.
