13280ORDINANCE NO 13,280 AN ORDINANCE CONDEMNING A PARCEL OF REAL PROPERTY FOR THE PURPOSE OF A PERMANENT DRAINAGE EASEMENT IN CONNECTION WITH 2ND YEAR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROJECT TO IMPROVE DRAINAGE ON HARRINGTON STREET; DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO INSTITUTE CONDEMNATION PROCEEDINGS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock does hereby condemn for pur- poses of a permanent drainage easement the following parcel of real property lying in the City of Little Rock, County of Pulaski, State of Arkansas, to -wit: A strip of land five (5) feet in width across the northeast corner and along the north side of Lot 9, Block A, and along the north side of Lot 10, Block A, of Harrington's Third Industrial Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, Pulaski County, Arkansas,being more particularly described as follows: Said Easement being 2.5 feet each side of a line beginning at a point on the West right -of -way line of Harrington Street, said point being 29 feet south of the northeast corner of said Lot 9, Block A, Harrington's Third Industrial Addition; thence northwesterly to a point 15 feet west of the northeast corner of said Lot 9 and 2.5 feet south of Rumbough Street; thence parallel to and 2.5 feet south of the north line of said Lot 9 and Lot 10, west to a point on the west line of said Lot 10, said point being 2.5 feet south of the northwest corner of Lot 10 and containing 558 square feet more or less. SECTION 2. The City Attorney is hereby authorized and directed to file in the proper court proceedings for the condemnation of the property described in Section 1 hereof, and to secure an order of such court permitting the City to take immediate possession of said property upon posting an amount with the Court equal to the appraised price for said parcel and to do any and all other things necessary in order to obtain immediate possession of said property. SECTION 3. Inasmuch as the need for the planned drainage improve- ments is urgent and it is vital that this project be commenced as soon as possible an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage in order to protect the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Little Rock.
