AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 39 -58 OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES PERTAINING TO LIMITS IN
SCHOOL ZONES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. Section 39 -58 of the Code of Ordinances pertaining
to limits in school zones is hereby amended to read as follows:
"No person shall drive a vehicle at a speed in
excess of twenty miles per hour upon any portion
of a street adjoining a school, whenever children
are present. Provided, however, that signs shall
be placed so as to give notice of such speed limit.
This section of the Code of Ordinances is
reenacted based on the findings of a traffic
engineering study in the City of Little Rock made
pursuant to authority of Act 229, Acts of Arkansas
of 1977."
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage.
