ORDINANCE NO. 13,290
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE
NO. 13,154, AMENDING THE COMPOSITION OF THE
HIS^lORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 13,154.is
hereby amended to read as follows:
SECTION 1. An Historic District Commission is hereby
established. The Historic District Commission, hereinafter
referred to as "Commission ", shall consist of five (5) members
appointed by the Board of Directors, who shall be electors
of such municipality holding no salaried or.elective municipal
office and shall include two (2) persons who own property
within the Historic District, one of whom must also reside
in the Historic District, One (1) architect and one (1)
member of the Quapaw Quarter Association and selected from a
list of three (3) submitted to the Little Rock Board of
Directors by the Quapaw Quarter Association Board of Directors.
The initial terms of the members of the Commission shall be
as follows: one member shall be appointed to a one (1) year
term; two members shall be appointed to two (2) year terms;
and two members shall be appointed to three (3) year terms.
Their successors shall be appointed in like manner for terms
of three (3) years. Vacancies shall be filled in like manner
for the unexpired term. All members shall serve without com-
pensation. The Commission shall elect a Chairman and Vice -
Chairman annually from its own number. The Commission may
adopt rules and regulations not inconsistent with the provisions
of this Ordinance and may, subject to appropriation, employ
clerical and technical assistance or consultants and may
accept money, gifts or grants, and use the same for such
purposes.

SECTION 2. The changes in the composition of the Historic
District Commission shall be made by reappointments to the
Historic District Commission after the effective date of the
Orrdinance establishing the Historic District and establishing
procedures for the issuance of a Certificate of Appropriateness
required with reference to construction activities within
the Historic District.
SECTION 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and this Ordinance
shall be in full force and effect from and after its approval
as aforesaid.
