AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EXTENSION OF THE
WRECKER SERVICE FRANCHISE FOR WRECKER SERVICE
WITHIN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK UNTIL APRIL 1,
1981; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The wrecker service franchise for wrecker service
within the City of Little Rock granted by Ordinance No. 13,754, is
hereby authorized to be extended until April 1, 1981 to provide and
maintain towing and storage facilities and service for those vehicles
which the Police authorities or other official authorities order
removed from the street and other public areas and ways of the City
of Little Rock. The Department of General Services is hereby
authorized to request the Purchasing Agent to advertise and take
bids for the wrecker franchise; said bids to be opened April 1, 1981.
SECTION 2. The provisions contained in Ordinance No. 13,754
are hereby reaffirmed, and all provisions of that Ordinance except
the expiration period shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3. Franchise extended herein is hereby declared to be
necessary for the safety and welfare of the citizens of the City of
Little Rock. Therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist,
and this Ordinance being necessary for the immediate preservation
of the public peace, health, and safety, shall take effect and be
enforced from and after its passage and approval.
