13920ORDINANCE NO. 13,920 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING PERMIT FEE SCHEDULES FOR BUILDING, ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING AND RELATED WORK PERFORMED IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; REPEALING ALL TECHNICAL CODE, ORDINANCE AND CODE OF ORDINANCE PROVISIONS IN CON- FLICT HEREWITH; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The following is hereby established as permit fee schedules for building, electrical, plumbing and related work in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas: I BUILDING FEES On all buildings, structures, alterations, or work, requiring a building permit, as set forth in Section 105, fees shall be paid as required at the time of filing an application, in accordance with the following schedule. (a) New Construction (1) "One and two - family dwellings" On all new single and two family dwelling construction, building, electrical, and plumbing fees shall be as follows: Building Fee Electrical Fee Plumbing Fee $.025 /sq. ft. $.025 /sq. ft. $.025 /sq. ft. under roof under roof (includes under roof fee for construction meter) (2) "All other occupancies" a. Building Fee $.0375 per sq. ft. under roof. Covered walkways, roofed patios, open sheds shall be charged at the rate of $.0125 per square foot of covered area. b. Electrical and Plumbing Fees As set forth in separate tables. (b) Repair to existing construction (1) Building Fee Cost of One and Two Repair Family Dwellings $100 - 500 $501 - 750 $751 - 1000 (2) 5.00 7.50 10.00 All Other Occupancies 6.25 10.00 11.25 (For each additional $1000 or fraction thereof $5.00) Electrical and plumbing fees are found in separate schedules. (c) Barricade Fees The area of public property on which fees shall be paid shall be that space enclosed within and occupied by any barricade, fence, covered walkway or tunnel. Charges shall be made for the day, and any fraction of a day, on the following basis: for public space occupied - two tenths (2/10) of one cent per square foot, with a minimum fee of $5.00 per day. (d) House Moving Fees Moving of building or structure $ 30.00 Moving of building on same lot 6.00 Inspection fee inside City 12.00 Inspection fee outside City 30.00 (e) Demolition of building or structure. The fee for the demolition or razing of a building or structure shall be at the rate of one (1) cent per square foot of floor area. The minimum permit fee shall be ten (10.00) dollars. (f) Gasoline tank - new or replacement $ 20.00 (g) Gasoline pump - new or replacement $ 12.00 (h) Fences, awnings, and all other construction projecting more than one (1) foot above the ground and NOT SPECIFICALLY covered by the above scheduled fees shall be charged at the rate of Item (b) above "Repair to existing construction ". (i) Permit fees for churches and other non - profit charitable institutions shall be based on schedule of fees provided for 'one and two family dwellings ". (j) Minimum Fee. The minimum fee for any permit shall be $5.00. (k) Investigative Fee. In those instances wherein the information submitted to obtain a permit is inadequate or incomplete, or work has begun without a permit, or an inspec- tion is required to determine the "on- site" conditions prior to issuance or denial of a permit, the Building Official may charge the owner an investigative fee of $15.00. The payment of the investigative fee shall not exempt any person from compliance with the provisions of the Code, or from any penalty prescribed by law. (1) Reinspection Fee. A reinspection fee of $7.00 will be charged when an additional trip is made by an inspector, due to rejections, lockouts, insufficient information as to location of building or structure, work not ready for inspection, or any other cause due to neglect or failure on the part of the applicant. ALTERNATE n II ELECTRICAL FEES 9 -24 -80 All app- cations for permits shall be accompanied by the inspection fee(s) as hereinafter provided for. A minimum of $ 5.00 will be required for each permit. HOW TO BE MADE When a project consists of more than one structure, each separate structure shall have a separate electrical permit. For purposes of determining where separate permits are needed, buildings not having a common attic space, connected only by a canopy, walkway or similar - connection shall be deemed to be separate buildings. For special equipment or apparatus for which no inspection fees are fixed by this article, a charge of $ 1.25 per 1,000 watts or less consumed by such equipment or appartus shall be made. When a temporary electrical construction meter is desired during the course of construction or alteration of a building, temporary permit will be issued at the regular permit fee. 1.),-fore any poce,ol is supplied to the perEnz�.nlo.nt distribution system of a building under construction, written nuLl�e must be submitted to this office noting the length of time the temporary power will be needed before the final electrical inspection is made, the understanding that the structure will not be occup:icd until after the final inspection, and that the party submitting the request will assume liability of any damage incurred as a result of disconnection of power from the building as a result of a violation of this ordinance. The time limit on temporary power being furnished to the building will be determined on the basis of need, not to exceed thirty (30) days. An extension of time may be granted only by special permission. In case the electrical inspector is required to make more than one trip for the purpose of inspecting any work on account of violation of rules, wrong address, or any other irregularities caused by the maser electrician or his agents, a charge of $�_po dollars shall be made for each addit.�_ -::al trip. Each such "plumbing fixture outlet" shall include t}A necessary faucets and accessories customarily included wi -t:h the plumbing fixture.
