AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING AND EMPLOYING
MAHLON A. MARTIN CITY MANAGER FOR THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; PROVIDING FOR HIS
SALARY, AUTHORITY, DUTIES AND RESPONSI-
BILITIES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, AKRANSAS:
SECTION 1. Mahlon A. Martin is hereby employed as
City Manager for the City of Little Rock, Arkansas effective
July 21, 1980 at an annual basic salary of $43,000.00. Said
City Manager shall serve in such capacity at the will of the
Board of Directors and shall have the authority, duties and
responsibilities as is provided by law and at the direction
of the Board of Directors.
SECTION 2. The following are additional conditions of
employment of said Mahlon A. Martin:
a) He shall be paid the sum of $350.00 monthly to
defray the cost of providing and maintaining an automobile
essential to the fulfillment of his duties as City Manager and
other incidental expenses incurred for and on behalf of the
City of Little Rock in his capacity as City Manager.
b) The sum equivalent to ten (10 %) percent of the
basic salary herein provided for and as same may be fixed from
time to time shall be paid into a retirement fund approved by
the City for his benefit.
c) In the event either the City or said Mahlon A.
Martin elects to terminate his employment as provided for
herein, such termination shall not become effective except
after ninety (90) days notice in writing during which time all
the terms and conditions herein set forth shall remain in force
and effect.

SECTION 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed and this ordinance
shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
