O / THEREAS, A petition has been filed with the City Council by the Federation of Labor, asking that the City of Little Rock establish Municipal Coal. and '(good Yards and recommending that the City purchase and store wood and coal during the Summer for the use of people during the cumin; winter months, And WHEREAS, It is impracticable and impossible for the City of Little Rock to assume this responsibility, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE 'ROCK, That we request all people living in Little Rock, who expect to spend the Minter here, �to buy NOW coal and wood for the next winter's use. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That in view of the fact that the United States Government is in need of all transportation facilities such as are us d in th transportation of coal, that it is a patriotic duty for ALll - people living;in this City to supply wood as an emergency fuel and that at this time the attention of the people be called to the necessity and urgent demand that all preparations necessary for the use of wood as fuel during the coming Winter be made now, and such supply of wood be obtained near this City, so as to relieve Railway transportation facilities of the burden of transporting coal where wood can be practically substituted for coal„ Adopted: ,���O, Approve Attest: • City Clerk. .ayo �"
