A RESOLUTION CONDEMiING THE STREET CAR 13RIDGE ACROSS SUMMITT
STREET AT ELEVENTH STREET FOR THE REASON THAT SAID BRIDGE IS
UNSAFE AND DAi+GEROUS.
WHEREAS, The Superintendent of Public Works and the
Committee of this City Council has investigated the condition of
the street car bridge across Summitt Street at 11th ;street and
found same to be dangerous and in the opin ion of the Council
the operation of street cars over said bridge is dangerous
because the timbers in said bridge are rotten and defective, and
WHEREAS, The City .Engineer reported to this Council that
said bridge is defective and dangerous and in such condition
that it is likely to fall and injure or kill passengers on the
Little hock Railway and Electtic Company's cars,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK:
That the street railway bridge across Summitt Street at
11th is dangerous and that the operation of street cars over
said bridge is unsafe and dangerous and unless the operation of
the cars over said bridge is stopped or unless said bridge is
repaired or rebuilt passengers are liable to be injured or killed,
therefore, it is declared in the opinion of this Council to be
defective and dangerous and this Council condemns the same, and
the Little flock Railway and Electric Company is hereby directed
to discontinue the operation of cars over said oridge until the
same is rebuilt, repaired and rendered saf "or traffic.
