NO. 1184 it has been publicly ann�tnce d by the Fire '41he re as, Insurance Companies, operating and doing business in the State of Arkansas, that they contemplate increasing the fire insurance rates in the City of Little Rock and the State of Arkansas; and Whereas, the City Council of Little Rock has authorized the exoenditure of various sums of money in the past and will expend large sums in the future to perfect the mire Department by purchasing equipment, making inspections regularly, and installing fire hydrants at regular intervals over the entire city; and 7hereas, the fire hazards and fire losses have been greatly decreased in Little Rock by the efforts of the Council, Mayor, and every city official and employee; and Whereas, it is the desire of the members of the Council and the Mayor to go on record as opposing an increase in the fire insurance rates in the City of Little Rock and the State of Arkansas, because there is no justification for such a move -.ent upon the part of said companies; Now, therefore, be it resolved that t'r_,e members of the Council of the City of Little Rock and the Mayor denounce the contemplated increase in the fire insurance rates in the City of Little Rock and Arkansas, as being unjust, prohibitive and mercenary, and that this expression of their feelings be spread upon minutes of this meeting.
