Whereas; The Yirhite City section of the City of Little Rock including the Altheimer, HcGehee, Englewood, Mountain Park, Country Club, Prospect Terrace, Cliffewood, Edgewood and Shadowlawn additions rapidly building up with valuable residences and business buildings, and ';rnereas: The said section of the_ City is not :Zow amply protected against fire because of the great distance from a City fire station, and Wnereas: Fire Station #10 is now located in Fair Park where it has no property to protect to the TPest, and where it has only thinly settled property to protect to the South, and Whereas; The Sectio:l to the East and North as well as the buildings in Fair Park, are amply protected by Fire Station #3 at 12th and Valentine Sts., and Fire Station #? at Prospect and Beech Streets, and !Mhereas: Station #10 in Fair Park must be continued in the park under a contract between the City of Little Rock and the Arkansas State Fair, and VYnereas; The revenue of the City of Little Rock isnot sufficient for the operation of another Fire Station at this time, and Whereas: Many citizens have petitioned the Council for fire protection in the sectioii refereed to and the entire citizen- ship of the City can be better served by moving Fire Station #10 to a new location where it can serve tL_is fast growing section, therefore, Be It Resolved: That the City Council petition the Arkansas State Fair Board to permit the removal of Fire Station #10 from Fair Park to a net location where it can protect the ra homes of many citizens izow inadequately protected against fire. j Adopted: April 9, 1925.
